Welcome to show 75 of Glenn’s Lost Classics. It’s the best music you may have never heard. This month I will be doing a set of Van Morrison for his birthday on 8-31. I will start the show with a Van Morrison Song called “Dark Night of the Soul” to give you a taste of his newer music. I haven’t mentioned this before, but not only is my show formatted by birthdays. I usually group the sets sort of chronologically. The first set is loosely based on the 60’s, the second on the 70’s, and the third is often punk, new wave and 80’s music. The fourth is sometimes brand new music, 90’s and sometimes harder rock, and the 5 set is usually where I pick my favorite songs from the current month's birthdays. This month I am ending with a set of Van Morrison for his birthday at the end of the month. We will also be celebrating the birthdays of Jerry Garcia with The Grateful Dead, Keith Moon with the Who, Boz Burrel with King Crimson, Sneaky Pete Kleinow with The Flying Burrito Brothers, James Pankow with Chicago, Chris Copping with Procol Harum, David Crosby with the Byrds, Billy Bremner with Dave Edmunds, Tommy Bolin Solo, The Edge with U2, Doug Fieger with The Knack, Elvis Costello and The Attractions, Dennis Davis with David Bowie, Joe Strummer with The Clash, Billy Bob Thornton with The Boxmasters, Robert Cray solo, John Hiat solo, Rudolf Schenkar with The Scorpions, Joe Elliot with Def Leppard, Phil Lynott with Thin Lizzy, Steve Gorman with The Black Crowes, Jim Capaldi with Traffic, Robert Plant solo, John Deacon with Queen, and Tim Bogert with Beck, Bogert & Appice and John Lee Hooker.
