Welcome to show #27 This show will be a T-Rex tribute show in honor of Marc Bolan's birthday on Sep 30th. I will also be doing a set of other artists that have birthdays in September like Chrissie Hynde and Martin Chambers from the Pretenders, Kelly Groucutt bass player and vocalist for ELO, Joe Perry from Aerosmith, Benmont Tench and Ron Blair from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Neil Smith from the Alice Cooper Band, and Kenny Jones who has been in The Small Faces, The Faces, The Who, The Law, and The Jones Gang. I also will be including a song by Nile Rodgers. I work with his brother Harrison. Nile has worked with an incredible amount of musicians, and also has a birthday in September. The first time I heard T-Rex was back in 1972. I had just moved to Gonsalves St in Cerritos and my neighbor Tom Durheim had both T-Rex albums Electric Warrior and The Slider. I was absolutely amazed by this music. For many years I was confounded why the only song I ever heard on the radio was the single Get it On. I do have to admit this show is more for me than everyone else, and this music still reminds me of Tom, unfortunately he passed away 8 years ago.
